Yukimura und Himuro sind Doktoranden, die im selben Labor arbeiten. Eines Morgens, ganz aus dem Nichts, verkündet Himuro, dass sie glaubt, in Yukimura verliebt zu sein, und schockiert diesen damit völlig. Yukimura möchte wissen, wie Himuro zu einer solchen Schlussfolgerung kam und erklärt, dass sie, als Wissenschaftler, ohne Beweise einfach nicht zu richtigen Schlussfolgerungen kommen können!
So beginnen die beiden den Versuch, ihre romantischen Gefühle zu quantifizieren und zu qualifizieren, und konstatieren, dass Liebe, wenn sie denn tatsächlich echt ist, wissenschaftlich beweisbar sein muss.
